CNCD Department

The CNCD (Cattle Nuisance Control Department) Division of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation is tasked with managing and mitigating issues related to stray animals within the municipal limits. With a dedicated team and a strategic approach, we aim to ensure the safety and well-being of both residents and animals.9

Our vision is to create a harmonious environment where the coexistence of humans and animals is facilitated through effective management practices. We strive to build a city where stray animal nuisance is minimized, and compassion towards all living beings is fostered.

Mission

The mission of the CNCD Division is to execute efficient and humane strategies for the control and care of stray animals within Gandhinagar. Through proactive measures and community engagement, we aim to address the challenges posed by stray cattle and dogs while promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

Work of Branch

Capturing Stray Cattle

The CNCD Division is responsible for capturing stray cattle within the Municipal Corporation limits. Captured cattle are kept at Vrindavan Gaudham, Sector-30, and are sent to Panjarapol if not claimed by their owners within seven days.

Implementation of Stray Animal Nuisance Prevention Policy

In alignment with the Stray Animal Nuisance Prevention Policy – 2023, our division actively implements measures to prevent stray animals nuisance. Stray dogs are captured, sterilized, vaccinated against rabies and released back as per the Animal Birth Control Rules (Dog), 2023.

Complaint-Based Response and Treatment

We respond to complaints regarding sick or injured animals and birds promptly.

 Thus, the amount of fine to be recovered for the release of animals caught for the second time, fine recovery will be charged double. And animals caught for the third time and animals caught from main roads such as roads numbered as  “1” to “7” and  “K” to “J” will not be released on fine and such animals will be sent to the Panjrapol permanently.
